Message From Pro - Vice Chancellor, BSMRAAU
Welcome to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU).
The inception of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU) is rooted in Bangabandhu’s philosophys strategic vision of education and much needed indigenous capacity building for national development. The process of materializing the dream of the Father of the Nation with the great thought & vision and farsightedness of our Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, MP- the able daughter of the architect of Bangladesh. Under her active patronage, Honourable Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP placed the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU) Act- 2019 in the National Parliament which was duly passed on 28 February 2019.
The establishment of BSMRAAU would create an academic & industry linkage for the future aviation & aerospace heavy industy. It is the only public university for aviation and aerospace studies and research in Bangladesh destined to fulfil coveted national aspiration. By dint of law, the university is linked with Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) one of the largest stakeholder of aviation assets, establishment and knowledge repository in Bangladesh.
We endeavour to make BSMRAAU the hub of the nation's aviation and aerospace related studies and research. We believe that the sustenance and expansion of Bangladesh’s remarkable progress in the aviation and aerospace sector hinges on building our future space and aviation leaders, creating the next generation of scientists, engineers, professionals and enthusiasts- a task that BSMRAAU is committed in pursuing with passion.
Our vision is "To become a leading international university in the field of aviation, space and technological studies through capacity building" and consequently, the mission is "To transform the aspiring youth into aviation, space and technological professional and enthusiast by providing world-class education".
At the midst of our 5th year of inception, BSMRAAU has attained the capacity of conducting two undergraduate and five postgraduate programms on aviation and aerospace discipline for nearly 300 students - a remarkable feat attained by any public university during its formative years.
As a new and specialized university, BSMRAAU is actively seeking collaboration with reputed aviation and aerospace fraternities at home and abroad. Such collaborations are expected to help in faculty development and catalyze innovation and growth in technology and research. To facilitate the process of collaboration, the university has signed several MoUs and LoAs with several leading national and international universities and industry partners.
We believe that the high skill-intensive and technology-driven aviation and aerospace sector is at the forefront of embracing the profound shifts of the industy 4.0 revolution, incorporating technological advances while blazing new markets in the aerospace, space technology, data science, advanced air mobility, unman aerospace vehicle, hydrogen/renewable energy-fueled aircraft and artificial intelligence. It is in these contexts that our emphasis on specialized education to produce skilled human resources has been nothing but intuitive.
As a strategic tool of the government to achieve the projected development goals, we are committed to providing quality assured education, keeping in mind the local and global trends and demands of the aviation and aerospace sector. Our graduates are expected to possess advanced technical competence and an understanding of the broad conceptual and theoretical aspects of their fields of specialization. They are also expected to be all-rounded graduates with good human values, and responsible and patriotic citizens.
